Ayala - Washington jeepney route

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I work in Ayala Ave., Makati City so the Ayala - Washington jeep is the most prized commuting means for me now.

Going from where I live up to my work place, I take a PRC-Mantrade jeep, passing along Chino Roces Ave. (former Pasong Tamo) to Gil Puyat Ave. (former Buendia). From there, I take the Ayala-Washington jeep until I reach Ayala cor. Rufino (Herrera) Sts.

From my point of origin, the route starts from Washington St. cor. Gil Puyat Ave. The Ayala - Washington jeep passes along Gil Puyat Ave. turns right to Ayala Ave. It passes along Ayala until it crosses EDSA near McKinley Road. intersection.

For the commuter coming from EDSA, a jeepney loading station can be found behind the Shell gasoline station (facing EDSA) along McKinley Road. The Ayala - Washington jeep crosses EDSA and passes along Ayala. Then it crosses Gil Puyat and turns left at Ayala cor. Yakal St. near the Makati City Police Station. It passes along Yakal until it reaches Chino Roces where it turns left crosses Gil Puyat again and reaches Export Ave. Finally, it turns right at Export Ave. until it goes to Washington St.

Some establishments that can be reached through this route are the following:

Ayala - Washington

The Peninsula Manila
RCBC Plaza
PBCOM Tower
The Columns
Makati Central Fire Station
Export Bank Plaza

Washington - Ayala

MRT EDSA Ayala Station

Take note that when passing through Ayala Ave., strict traffic rules are enforced so no once can just load/unload their passengers where ever they can. There are designated LOADING and UNLOADING sections from each side of the road.
